rel="hub" is not allowed in Atom #44

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
SUMMARY:

The Atom specification defines a fixed list of allowable values for the "rel"
attribute of the link element, as well as an IANA
registry where new values may be registered. An Atom feed that contains a rel
value of "hub" is not therefore currently in
compliance with the Atom spec.

RELEVANT SECTION:

"A feed that acts as a topic as per this specification MUST publish, as a child
of atom:feed, an atom:link element whose rel
attribute has the value hub and whose href"

COMMENT/REQUEST:

The authors of this protocol must make a commitment to properly register their
new relation type with the IANA.

Sounds good to me. Any ideas who we need to bug about being added to the IANA
registry? The site with the relations looks like a wiki, but it isn't:
