Touchègg not working in ubuntu 11.04 #101

Hey,

I followed the instructions to install Touchègg.
Installed all dependencies and compiled the code. Everything seemed to be fine.

But when I start the touchegg:

p@p:~/Temp/touchegg-1.0$ touchegg &
[1] 5783
p@p:~/Temp/touchegg-1.0$ Reading config from
"/home/pierre/.config/touchegg/touchegg.conf"

And then nothing happens it just doesn't add the new gestures...

Sorry if it's my fault I tried to google a little and didn't find anything
useful...

Hi!

Do you have these problems with lastest versions?
If you are using Ubuntu 11.04 Natty, do you have installed the PPA to use the
latest uTouch? <https://launchpad.net/~utouch-team/+archive/daily>

This is the version of the packages that you must have:

 - utouch-evemu - 1.0.5
 - utouch-frame - 1.1.4
 - utouch-grail - 2.0.1
 - utouch-geis - 2.1.2

Install also de libutouch-* packages ;)

Greetings!

Hey actually I had many other problems with the 11.04 (no mic, isight install
wasn't successfull, buggy behavior, etc) so I just installed the 10.04 LTS and
things seems to be smoother.

The mac mouse gestures dont work out of the box, and I see on the uTouch page
that the package is only for 11.04 and 11.10...
Do I have to install a prior version of TouchEgg? Cause I see on the download
page that the previous versions are for 10.10...?

No, in Ubuntu 10.04 the uTouch stack is not available, is a relative new
feature :S Anyway, the next Ubuntu version (Oneiric) will be released in few
days with Touchégg (sudo apt-get install touchegg) I don't know if this could
be a better option for you ;)

uTouch has some changes from Ubuntu 11.04 to the actual version, try to install
the PPA or update your system :S
