Absolutly no response on synaptics touchpad #127

I have tried to install touchegg on both (x)ubuntu 10.10 and 11.10(32 bit), but
I cant seem to get any response when I run touchegg from the terminal. On
ubuntu two-finger-click and two-finger-scrolls work out of the box. On xubuntu
I also got three-finger-click, so I suppose this proves that the touchpad is
multitouchcapable. I tried changing synaptics to evdev in the config file, but
that only resulted in an extremely fast mouse cursor. Touchegg still gave no
output. Is there something I have overlooked? Any advice how to debug/search
for the solution?

No, if you can not see the Touchégg output is because your touchpad is not
supported by uTouch (in your case is multitouch, but not supported) I'm sorry :S
