Map route link not added to Google Doc #104

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Create a track
2. Upload the track to google maps and google docs
3. Open the MyTracks spreadsheet and see that the link to the created map is
missing.

What is the expected output? Link to route map on speradsheet.
What do you see instead? All other lines populated properly. Link left blank.

What version of MyTracks are you using?
On what version of Android? 2.1
On what phone? HTC EVO 4G

Please provide any additional information here: Using Google Apps account
(@mydomain.com). Up until approximately 2 days ago, it worked as expected: the
link column was populated along with every other column, and clicking on the
link displayed the route map in Google Maps (but not in my maps, because it's a
Google Apps account, and I can't get it to save the maps to that account).
Now, the "Link" column is blank.

SO I just wiped everything clean. I uninstalled mytracks from the phone, and
renamed the spreadsheet file on Docs. After reinstalling, it works fine again.

The problem, as far as I can tell, is that the new version of mytracks saves
the route map link on the autogenerated Google Docs spreadsheet to a column
titled "Map", whereas the spreadsheet created by the previous version of
mytracks titled the same column "Link".

I haven't tested to see if simply renaming the column on the old spreadsheet
with the new naming standard will also resolve the issue.

Update 2: I tested simply renaming the column formerly labeled "Link" to "Map",
and the rout map link autopopulated as expected.

Confirmed: Using the newest version of mytracks with autogenerated Google Doc
spreadsheet from the previous version will not populate with link to route map
unless user renames the column to the new naming standard (or starts a new
spreadsheet and lose all historical data).

As far as I can tell that column has always been called map.

I originally installed Mytracks in June. At that time, the first time I used it
and sent the track to Google docs, the column was titled link. On updating to
1.0.15 it tries to populate a column titled map. Renaming the column in the old
doc fixed it. I never touched anything on the original install. By default it
was called link. To reproduce it you would need to install the old version
first, with no existing associated doc.
