MyTracks scrolls map so that current location is on-screen even when viewing pre-recorded track #120

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. In MyTracks, Menu -> Tracks
2. Select any old track
3. Switch to map view
4. Scroll around, such that ones current location is off-screen.
5. After a second or two, My Tracks will move the display back so that ones
current location is on-screen.

Note: This used to happen to me every time, but I can't reproduce it right now.
The steps above were definitely what I did before. I'm not sure what puts it
into the mode described above.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
MyTracks shouldn't automatically scroll the map, except while actively
recording a track.

What version of MyTracks are you using? On what version of Android? On what
phone?
MyTracks 1.0.15. Android 2.1. Droid (original).

Please provide any additional information here:

Can reproduce easily. Scrolling no longer works on old track select.

I think this may be the same as issue 148.

I've seen this behavior too, and can provide one additional bit of behavioral
detail: For me, if I launch mytracks and never hit the "my location" button,
then I can scroll around the map as I wish and it won't snap back. However
once I hit the my location button once, it stays "sticky" and will keep
snapping back to my location if I scroll away from it.

Right. For our reference, this behaviour is defined in

http://code.google.com/p/mytracks/source/browse/MyTracks/src/com/google/android/
apps/mytracks/MyTracksMap.java
(look for "keepMyLocationVisible")

However, following your location should be turned off as soon as you drag the
map around.

Do you still see this with 1.1.4?

(just removing OpSys-Android label, all issues are in Android anyway)

This is Not Reproducible.

Verified On:
Device: Sony Xperia X10a
Build : MyTracks-1.1.11.rc1
OS : Android 2.1

Hence Marking this as Not Reproducible

This still happens for me; I just checked. The issue may be triggered by the
"my location" menu option; there doesn't appear to be any way to get out of
that mode - even selecting a different saved track didn't do it.
