Totally agreed - indeed I think this is a usability bug.

Okay, it's accepted and labeled high priority. What's the ship date?

I opened the issue and would like to implement this feature but there are
already two other importer related code review requests pending ( Issue 61 and
Issue 82 ). As soon as those will be merged into the main repository can start
with this feature. I'm not sure about a date though, Rodrigo wrote something
about another project they are currently working on:

Steffen, status update?

I'm very sorry Christopher, but I'm stuffed with work for the next few months
and can't find the time to do it. Even though it's a relatively small change :-(

This should be a menu option, right? If yes, let me know an I'll search/make an
icon for it.

Thanks.
Yes, I agree that it should be a menu option. It probably won't be in the first
5 menu items, though, so while you can make an icon, keep in mind that it won't
show for most users.

Icon won't make sense; I would look for it after choosing "Tracks" and then
hitting my menu button on the device to get additional choices. I would expect
import/export or a separate choice for import.

I kind of like the idea of trying to not rely on the menu button so much. An
on screen button from the tracks activity seems more natural and findable.

Well, we have "Pick a Track" from "Tracks", and a little space to left of
"Export all Tracks" and "Delete all Tracks" at the bottom. Thinking of
refactoring, I can see: "Import", "Export", "Delete" and then perhaps a mode by
which you (multi)select the tracks as listed, then execute your chosen command.
"Import" at first might require pushing the GPX files to the GPX subdir for
MyTracks. I suppose the next bit of function would be to allow a user to
choose an arbitrary file on a device for import.

I've just implemented this and have posted a review request (320).
The import is launched via a button in the tracks list activity (next to export
all and delete all), and attempts to import all files ending in .gpx found in
the /sdcard/MyTracks/gpx directory.

I pulled in the import all change. I'll open a new feature request to select a
single file.

HELP! My /sdcard has no such name as MyTracks. The app is already stored on my
SD card. Why cannot I see/find it anywhere when I try to import my .gpx files?
