Option to lock screen orientation #59

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

It would be nice if in the settings one could configure the app to NOT
switch screen orientation (and fix it at either lanscape or portrait) -
this is so that certain activities in which the phone moves a lot won't
make it keep flipping orientation.

(just removing OpSys-Android label, all issues are in Android anyway)

I realize this is marked as "very low" priority, but it would be *really*
useful.

Like many people, I put my phone in an armband while running and auto-rotation
makes using MyTracks frustratingly difficult. As a hack, I disable
auto-rotation globally (e.g. for all applications). It would be much more
convenient to have an application-specific setting.

By the way, thank you all for the *great* app!

My Tracks has a home screen widget that might be helpful when you are running.
However, the settings screen is so crowded now, thus we don't plan to add this
new setting.

Thank you for the reply on this request, even if it is not the outcome I would
have hoped for. Personally, I could imagine this as a check-box: Settings
--> Display: "Disable screen rotation" _check box_

Fortunately, I have a work-around, even if it is not as convenient as an in-app
setting.
