Remove unmaintained projects #94

Closed tormeh closed 2 years ago

Just tidying up a bit by removing abandoned projects. Adding reference to SmartCore to the front page since it seems to have the most traction.

Haven't managed to test, as I'm getting 403 from crates.io. I'm probably doing something wrong regarding the github oauth token.

@tormeh It's not something you're doing wrong, the site's CI pipeline is currently experiencing a few issues. I've talked with the site owner, Anthony Nowell, and he's mentioned that he'll be doing a re-write of some of those portions at some point in the near-ish future. After that, I'll be helping to merge/close some of the outstanding PRs which are currently held up by CI.

@tormeh We recently pushed a site update that should largely take care of this issue. Rather than removing unmaintained content (maybe someone will want to fork it), we've implemented a transparent ranking system based on a combination of the last update and recent/total downloads. Based on this metric, active projects like Smartcore will show up on the results page before unmaintained ones like rusty-machine. If the new metrics are producing results that you think are in an unfair order moving forward, please let us know and we can try to make an adjustment that provides an equitable presentation of the ecosystem.
