Columnbreak #18

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Write a text that is longer than the column height.
2. Text should break automatically in the next column, or provide a command
(e.g. \columnbreak) for breaking columns

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
- Automatically break the text in columns.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
- Latest version, Win XP

Please provide any additional information below.
- I suppose a sufficient solution would be the "noheaderbox" option as
requested in "issue 7" in this buglist.

I will implement a noheaderbox, but boxes running over multiple columns doe not
make sense in my opinion. If you need text spanning more than one column, you
can create a box spanning two columns, and use the standard multicolumn
environment within the box.

I do this often, but it is important not to put too much text into one box. I
therefore typically use a single box spanning two columns and about half the
height of the poster to present the main result.

Completely filling a poster with text creates a very boring poster, which will
not attract many visitors.
