Non-latin characters are not rendered correctly on the map (Maemo/N900) #57

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Download Macedonia.zip
2.Launch monav on N900
3.Look at place and street names in Macedonia

(Above steps work for any other country which uses non-latin characters in
place names, like Greece.)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expect to see the cyrillic place/street names rendered correctly with
Unicode/UTF8, instead lots of question mars are shown (????????)

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
- 0.3 from http://monav.openstreetmap.de/installers/monav-0.3-Maemo5.deb
- 0.3.1-1 from from http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=74791
Both versions have the same problem.

Please provide any additional information below.
Looked at the text inside of the map/address files and I can see it's there,
it's just not rendering correctly on the map. In the dialogs it is rendered
correctly, the problem is evident only on the map.

Thanks for the reporting this. It was already reported in issue 50 by James and
he also went ahead and fixed it in revision ca0f55ac56eb ( MoNav 0.4 ).

Most likely I will backport this fix to 0.3.1 during the next days. However,
this will require us to re-compute the maps and users to re-download them.

This already works as expected in branch 'default'
