I'm fine either way, but if we do change, I vote for 2a (most of the world)
I can do 18:00 UTC or 19:00 UTC, since both are in the middle of the day for me. I am happy to change, or not, on whatever date, as long as it's documented (and the bot pings me).
Either time works for me and I will be on PTO the entire week between the two dates so I have no preference any way
Prefer (1), but also ok with (2a)
I prefer (2), and both 2a and 2b are fine for me.
I have no real preference here and am fine with whatever others feel it would be best.
2a
Prefer 2, either 2a or 2b is fine for me
Could we do a broader survey to gauge if there is interest in moving the meeting earlier than 18 UTC ? It's generally late for most of EMEA/APAC and we have people that can't attend because of that.
I don't know what the right tool to do that is ? I recall doodle.com but I also remember seeing better options.

I recently discovered https://framadate.org/ which seems pretty legit for such needs. If we like it we can even host our own.
Previous one I found (rallly.co) had some issues like anyone (not just the poll creator) can edit poll info as well as other people's responses.

Ah! framadate is the one I remembered but forgot the name. Thanks for sharing @cybette :)

Maybe let's do that after we finish this topic.

I don't mind if we settle on this first and then do a survey after.
During today's meeting, we had 7 steering committee votes (3 x +1, 3 x 0, 1 x -1), which is inconclusive. So next week will again be at 18:00 UTC.
Since we are thinking about drastically changing the meeting format that will also involve moving things around (see https://github.com/ansible-community/community-topics/issues/38#issuecomment-982456681 for more details), I am closing this issue. See you all on the other side! ;)
Summary
Daylight savings will end in the places that observe it for only part of the year soon. Should we:
1) Keep the same time (18:00 UTC) 2) Move the meeting to 19:00 UTC (should make it the same time of day for people who do observe DST) 3) Something else?
If we change, what date should we change on? 2a) October 31 (most of the world) 2b) November 7 (US, Canada)
Any other proposals?
