the unzipping in Windows seems to be creating datasets that are not recognised by HDF driver #7

Initially thought the problem was lack of HDF4 support in windows, but actually the problem is the datasets that are saved out when unzipped in windows.

Fixed!

Now reading and writing the compressed/uncompressed files in binary mode.
