Using ticks for the sliders attracts too much attention to them:

The way it might still work is if the plugin and the Aux Shelf are made taller, so controls are not as clumped together. Since the "Spread" parameter range is currently skewed, having ticks would communicate that.

Proceeding without the ticks for now, I have two ideas for the slider "head":

Round

Even without ticks, the UI with sliders is starting to look cluttered.
