Cannot connect to Azure SQL using AAD

Authentication type: Azure Active Directory - Universal with MFA support Database: master Selected an AAD account and AAD tenant.

Fails to connect with the following error:

Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGON'.
