managed to cross-compile it but am not getting any networks when i do
I get no networks but there are a couple of them around.
Am using kernel 4.4.27, can someone point out anything that i may b missing. other details of the system are available on the boot log. attached

i got the one from https://github.com/hadess/rtl8723bs and cross compiled it for Sun7i Allwinnwer A20 with kernel-4.3.2 and it compiled well after applying the patches recommended for the kernel version. Placed it in my modules directory then,
depmod -a
modprobe r8723bs
ip link set wlan0 up
iwlist wlan0 scan
wpa_passphrase ssid_name wifi_passwd > wifi.conf
wpa_supplicant -D wext -i wlan0 -c wifi.conf -B
dhclient wlan0
And it worked!!!! i was able to connect to my wifi.
i have tried to cross compile this driver for allwinner A20 with no success on mainline kernel. Could you point me to the necessary steps needed to get it to compile? i would gladly appreciate.
