Reminder to everyone: only Asrock still making motherboards with 4 slots huge RAM boards on consumers market, kinda anticipated all this in 2020th already. They could raise the prices from monopoly position.

@clover1980, there are still quite a few manufacturers that offer mainboards with four RAM slots. The MSI B660M Mortar I recently bought for my new machine is one of them.

EDIT: This does seem to happen less with the 30B model

Asking Alpaca-30B to switch to a different language (German in this case) interestingly also instantly triggered the training output, after a very coherent conversation in English about Austrian beer, Banksy's art and H.265:
