I'd eventually like to package Dump1090 for Debian, for easy "apt-get install" installation, but I can't figure out under which license you've developed Dump1090. Could you please specify if this is under one of the OSI-approved licenses? Adding a LICENSE file to your source would be ideal!

From the README

Dump1090 was written by Salvatore Sanfilippo antirez@gmail.com and is released under the BSD three clause license.

Correct. Adding the license text in a LICENSE file would make this easier to find than that single line in the README though. Renaming issue title "Clarify license terms" -> "Add LICENSE file with BSD license text"
