An option should let the user:
 - prevent any usage of the data connection without confirmation "Ask before
use Internet"
 - prevent any usage of the data connection.

In the code, any data connection access should ne guard.

Hello,

I was thinking of writing a transit application that loads in GTFS data and
does not use the internet (initially for Vancouver). Only problem is the data
would have to be updated somehow, every few months when the schedules change.
Please say if anyone is interested in the idea.

I think this is outside the scope of this issue.
Since the STM doesn't publish GTFS data, I'm not interested in this kind of app
for now.

Hello,

Considering the STM now publishes their data in GTFS format, is there any
possible future consideration for this?

http://www.stm.info/en-bref/developpeurs.htm

As the original poster mentionned, I definitely woudn't mind having all this
data locally as to not need to query online every single time.

Thanks!

We're currently working on a brand new version of the app using the GTFS data.

Offline support is planned but it'll take some time.

Thanks for your feedback.
