@fanlinbj126com that is unfortunately the case, and a limitation of this aging driver. broadcom-wl is capable of operating in AP mode, but only with old BCM47xx devices as far as I know.

For old devices it often has more functionality than the brcm80211 drivers. For example, it supports 40 MHz channels and power saving features, which have been removed before releasing brcm80211. It is capable of operating in AP mode and also supports the 5 GHz band.

@fanlinbj126com I just looked and the brcm80211 driver supports your device. Would that maybe allow you to enable the AP mode?
