Batter Doesn't Cook

Expected Behaviour

When you cook a batter-coated or batter-containing item, the batter should cook. Batter and beer batter should behave sort of like sugar turning into caramel--above a certain temperature, they should cook into "batter coating" or something of that sort.

Actual Behaviour

But many batter-containing recipes neither remove the batter reagent nor allow it to cook properly, leading to a "This raw batter tastes disgusting"! message on consuming the final item.

Reproduction steps

Cook a batter-containing item and eat it. Funnel cake should work, also pizza crunch.

Frequency

Every time on affected recipes.
