Keyboard RGB preset control not supported yet #2

Open chillmatin opened 3 years ago

OpenRGB hasn't created a driver for controlling keyboard colors on this device yet. Some folks managed to create a keyboard rgb control app for different Lenovo Legion model. I do think that we can use this repository to create our own fork for Lenovo Legion 5. Lenovo-Y720-KB-Led-Controller

@chillmetin I don't have RGB in my laptop unfortunately so I can't test it so making a software for it might be an impossible task for me.

But from what it looks, they are using the same kind of workaround we use for enabling and disabling battery conservation. So I think it might be possible in legion 5 too but without compatible hardware I can't do much here.

I'm gonna leave this issue open to somebody to pick it up in the future maybe.

EDIT: You better try contacting the developer, there is already an open issue for legion 5 pro. https://github.com/Izurii/Lenovo-Y720-KB-Led-Controller/issues/31

Might be late, but this one works great too: https://github.com/4JX/L5P-Keyboard-RGB Can save the RGB profile in a directory and load it using CLI every time you boot it, I personally use i3wm and load it with exec
