GH pages (or equivalent) docs website #8

Having the doco in the README.md is ok for now, but at some stage we should move to having the docs hosted (GH pages is fine, with the docs in markdown files in a docs/ folder in this repo.

So, let's not worry about this now, but we'll return to it in the future.
