Feature request regarding port ranges #4

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
I would love to see the possibility to open whole port ranges.
Additional to the possibility to enter one port like 6000 it would be great to
enter something like
6000-6006 to open the ports 6000 to 6006 since some programs are kind of greedy.

best regards,
Fabian

Your request is noted. in the meantime just add 6 port mappings and port mapper
will
save them for reuse in it's list. However please note that if the ports are
already
mapped to another machine Port Map will try to use any port (which in this case
might
be not the desired outcome), so if you need these specific ports on a regular
basis
you might want to use your router settings instead to wire them directly.

I add my vote - the Apple docs say to open ports 16384 through 16403 for iChat
AV -
its quite a hassle to add 20 ports!

@lowbatteries: the ports that need to be openend by iChatAV are openend using
UPNP/NATPMP already if
available. so it doesn't apply for that case. although i'm hearing the general
request.

I'm using a couple of apps which require 8-10 consecutive ports opening. It
would be a handy feature!
