What is latest version of Scalar? How to identify the current version I have #71

Hi, I have downloaded and installed/configured scalar on a Redhat virtual host, sometime in 2016, for the university that I work for. Can you please let me know how to identify what version i am currently running? Also what is the latest version available? Apparently a faculty member is looking to perform some action in Scalar, and cannot, yet, someone else was able to perform it in a USC version. I will reply once I know what exactly she is looking to do in Scalar. They are asking for an upgrade, but I am not sure if that is needed, or not. Can someone get back to me asap. thanks

The issue is the Scalar site is not displaying the images. Showing triangles where the actual images should be.

Hi @pguerr061703 , you can see the list of available versions here: https://github.com/anvc/scalar/releases

Your best bet for determining your current version would be to check the creation date of the files on your server against the list above (we didn't integrate the version number into the code itself until earlier this year).

Based on what you find, the update file (https://github.com/anvc/scalar/blob/master/UPDATE.txt) will instruct you on what steps need to be taken to update your install, should you so choose (be sure to back up your environment first, of course).

It's hard to say for sure, but it's possible that the issue you're seeing with missing thumbnails may be due to the older version you're running—as long as you follow the instructions above, in general we'd recommend updating as there have been many improvements and features added since 2016.
