[Feature Request] Edge Cases #34

From Discord:

To both Skimble and Daddi/Patrick -- you may both want to take a look at Wearing the Cape as an "edge case" for Fate. First, it's an amazin supers system that's fun, and I'm finding the novels not bad either, second, it does a few simple things with Fate that neither FateX, or Modular Fate canfully represent with current settings/features. There's several things, i.e. the "Attributes" think that I said earlier, where some skills are in a separate category, and those 6 "Attributes" give a bonus to the other skills (+1 at +3, +2 at +5, +3 at +7, +4 at +9). I was a bit skeptical at first, but I'm seeing a lot of advantages to doing something like that now. But there's no way to auto-add that bonus to links skills, so we'll be doing that manually in play. The bonus also provides Weapon/Armor ratings off Physique and Willpower, W:2 and A:1 for each +1 bonus that apply to physical or mental harm respectively, that makes Supers swing and hit harder, plus resist a bit more. Seems like adding weapon & armor ratings to the characters and modifying rolls with them will also be manual in play for us. There's also "Resources" a 3rd category of Skills, with different rules as well. For "Resources" there are different stress track rules for characters and organizations, which the system provides as a specific type of character. For "Resources" a +3 in any of 3 Resources grants a box on the Resource stress track, and a +5 grants another box, but the track has a max of 5 boxes, so its impossible to do that in the automatic stress track setup, there's no limiter in the options, so I'll be manually doing those calculations. Little things like that. I can implement this in either FateX or MF, but, it seems like it might make a good "edge case" for both of you in planning out design. Or not. Thought you might find it interesting to think about. EsauYesterday at 4:42 AM And actually, on the resources, there's also an added consequence slot when the first resource of 3 hits +7, and another when one hits +9, but each one of the 3 resources doesn't grant one, so if you have two resources at +7, you still get only +1 consequence slot. In MF, I can't see a way to do an "OR" on the linked skills for the stress trackers, so I'll be adding that slot manually to characters when it comes up.
