kicad footprints are working, though there are a few types we don't yet handle 
(e.g. 
holes, off-center drill holes, 'ellipsoidal' drill holes)

Kicad footprint todo list:
-- MECA, HOLE type pads
-- non-centered drill holes
-- oblong drill holes
-- trapezoidal pads (shape delta may or may not be a separate issue)
-- find true bounding box of arcs instead of using the whole circle

oblong drill holes are now translated to svg, but don't work in gerber
