Use Native System Wine as Compatibility Tool #325

I'd like to use the native versions of wine/proton on my system rather than utilizing the builds of proton Valve ships. Does anyone have a method of achieving this?

While you can use custom builds like Proton GE, I'm not sure whether you can use your system version, as I think the process is always run in a container now. I also expect you'll hit problems if you use vanilla Wine rather than Proton. This is all beyond the scope of this overlay though. It's something you configure in Steam itself.

Very well, I'll move the topic to the forums for now https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-8768504.html#8768504 but I figured it might be something to add as an option such as steamruntime depending on how it can be implemented.
