App icon looks blurry and pixelated #340

Have you read a contributing guide?

Current Behavior

App icon in my dock looks pixelated therefore kinda ugly, especially the corners, but also those shapes inside it. I know that it's mostly my fault as I do not have a high quality or high density pixel monitor but any other icon app on the dock that has a similar squircle shape looks fine and round enough. To make it more clear, I have to set a very big size for icons in my dock.

Expected Behavior

App icon should render fine on low-end monitors just like all others apps I have do (Spotify, VS Code, Obsidian, Firefox, etc.).

Steps To Reproduce

  1. Have a low density pixel monitor
  2. Pin the app to the dock

Environment

- OS: ArchLinux - GNOME 45
- Version: 0.35.4

Anything else?

It does look less pixelated therefore better. But we're not quite there yet because now it looks almost like a square. I'm gonna use VS Code as an example: in the app menu - where icons are big - we can see that they have a very similar shape:

In the dock though - given that they are smaller - Anytype looks almost like a square (it's a bit less noticeable from the screenshot than in real life looking at the monitor) while VS Code retains very well that squircle shape even at lower resolutions: Screenshot from 2024-01-04 17-55-50

I don't know if I should close the issue or not. On one hand, it's still subpar compared to the icons from other apps; on the other hand, it's better and less pixelated than it was before :)
