Spatial Extent usability #626

Closed pblain closed 10 years ago

Users have problems creating spatial subsets in the 123 portal. The following things need to change on Step 2:

  1. A bounding box drawn on the map will define the subset rather than the map extent.
  2. The bounding box will remain visible on the map after it's drawn.
  3. There will be a default bounding box around Australia to provide a clue to the user.
  4. Bounding box drawing mode will be the default.
  5. The Zoom icon (which looks like a box with a plus) will be removed.
  6. The hand icon will toggle between drawing and map-moving modes. Highlighted when in map-moving mode.
  7. The GFI box will be displayed when the map is right-clicked (not left-clicked).
  8. The spatial extent will be called "Extent" for both WMS/WFS and ncWMS/AODAAC (not "Position" or "Spatial Extent").
  9. The extent filter (in the details panel) will come with a dropdown that allows the user to select from "bounding box", "polygon", or "none". The "none" option clears the spatial subset. Defaults to bounding box.

I think this thing has become obsolete with the last year's work on the spatial extent. @pblain ?
