695 would allow people to load an external file and compare it with currently loaded datasets, but maybe the need is more specific and people may like to compare against CARS or alike.
CARS standards are very portable/small and the file is quite straight-forward to use. Maybe we could even re-create the old and deprecated "climatologyQC" that was available early on in the toolbox.
Open and wide requirements:
[ ] Parser for CARS.
[ ] Climatology to dataset function - creates comparable, position/depth-dependent variables according to all datasets loaded (e.g. calculate temperature climatology for all WQMs, Temperature climatology profile, etc).
[ ] Functionality need to be a bit generic to allow other climatologies to be loaded/implemented.
[ ] Allow automatic usage in the graphs.
[ ] ClimatologyQC - allow verifications/QC based on the climatology.
