further possible topics:

we could make a list of the relevant changes/fixes in 1.4.6 that should be released soon. here are the (filtered) commit messages:

Great. Also show make mention of changes made in 1.5.1 thus far by adding a link to the changelog:

In 1.5.1 there have been many changes, too numerous to mention. Here is the list thus far: http://bugs.scribus.net/changelog_page.php?version_id=70

re: june topic I think we add "in 1.5 layers from master pages can be put on top of layers on pages." as a possible topic to cover next issue.

re: crowdfunding/donation lets sit on this and wait a few issues.

re: changelogs (1.4.6 and 1.5.1svn) added

aoloe commented 8 years ago

for 1.5.x i would simply present from time to time (or in each issue, for the matter...) one specific new feature. like the new icons or the new scripter command... i would avoid a long list of changes, since the ones who are interested in it, can follow the commits...

luzpaz commented 8 years ago

ale, IMO we could mention this in the 1st newsletter and then from then on not necessary.

aoloe commented 8 years ago

or we could present in the second newsletter the status of 1.5? now, it's imo too late for adding a section on 1.5 in the first issue. we don't have to cover everything... november is very soon! --BUMPED

http://www.scribus-user.de/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=206 presents a very clever way for a top / bottom border in scribus... i think it's short enough, that we could add it to the newsletter in a "how-to" section... if it's fine to use it, i will ask the author for permission... and try to translate it to english :-) --DONE

we will probably move the announcement of 1.4.6 to the december issue...

aoloe commented 8 years ago

if we do a "christmas issue", we could ask the readers to create a cookies recipe card with scribus and share the .sla + .pdf with us (plus the recipe :-) cf. my comment on referring to real world events in #14 .

JuliusPC commented 8 years ago

1.4.6 would be a great christmas present :-) Shall I translate the 1.4.6 release announcement into German or are there still changes expected?

I'm translating the „Dachzeile“ (english: kicker?-article until tomorrow.

aoloe commented 8 years ago

perfect julius!

i don't think that there will be changes in the 1.4.6 announcement... but we're not sure yet if the release will happen before the end of october (well, not the release of the newsletter, the release of scribus 1.4.6 :-)
