Thanks for the PR! This actually was just added to main in https://github.com/apache/arrow-nanoarrow/pull/542 2 days ago - any chance you have tried that out already?

I think the description you have here would be nice to add to the existing function call. Some of the other elements may be duplicative, but if you are seeing an issue with what is in main let us know
