This includes some new updates to the documentation and scripts for the next 2.0.0 RC.
Note: The C/I has been updated to run the custom scripts on build, but this might fail as I've not managed to test it in the Github Actions environment as yet. If the build does fail, I'll need to investigate before this is merged.
Nevertheless, I'd appreciate a review of these changes.
