When doing a re-import from an already imported folder, the total number of files is reported. There is a really helpful option «Skip existing target files». Unfortunately the number of skipped files is not reported in the «Import Summary» screen.
There it says e.g. Imported: 37 jobs. When skipping is enabled, this information is not correct. It should display e.g. «Imported 2 jobs, 35 skipped.».
Not mentioning skipped files gives the user a feeling of uncertainty, letting her/him doubt, if any files might have been overwritten (which could be a shocking situation, depending of the changes done meanwhile...).
Of course, this feature is nice to have, since soon all files from Kettle in this world will be converted... ;-) Maybe depending on the speed the courageous, ambitious and hope-giving apache hop team can fix all the bugs and desires that have accumulated over the years. Keep on, do the important work first.
