I am a Jackson committer and think we should not uptake Jackson 2.17 yet. There are changes in Jackson 2.17 that could hurt performance. See https://github.com/FasterXML/jackson-module-scala/issues/672 and there is also a bug in the pom for jackson-databind that makes byte-buddy a transitive dependency (it was meant to added with test scope but wasn't).
