How to set the proxy server system variables

The database that needs to be proxied is MySQL. The system variable values of the master and slave databases are both 1（for lower_case_table_names）

but after connecting to the proxy server, the value is 0. I don't know where to set it.

Variable 'lower_case_table_names' is a read only variable

I set the value in the console window connected to the proxy server, but there was no change

Based on the above, I hope to find a way to set this system variable

What is your version?

I tried it on versions 5.4.1 and 5.5.0
