I was just talking about how the Attic is a strategic differentiator for the ASF compared to most organizations - so I'd argue it's a great featured project from the Foundation point of view.
What other organizations guarantee that a project's entire being - code, history, lists, bugs, releases, whatever - will exist in it's original URL and form for perpetuity?
Of course, it depends on the purpose of the Featured Projects section: is that featuring the ASF as a whole, or merely featuring a selection of technologies that we happen to host?
+1 to the attic being listed
It's nice we have the attic-feature but I don't consider the "attic" a project at all. It's an archive. If we want to let it stand out, it should not be part of the "featured projects" but a general feature of the ASF.
We could remove "projects" from the title and just call that display "Featured".

Agreed - to an external viewer the Attic is a Foundation Service rather than a Project.
Within ASF, it's a Project because every time we say Project we mean Project Community, and the Attic has a community.
I am inclined to leave it as is. Removing "projects" makes a little sense, but I don't like a hanging adjective. Stet. Closing.
I was seeing this today, and thought maybe it's a good idea to exclude the Attic from the "featured projects".
