Model extraction feature #212

Describe your system:
 - Linux distribution:Suse 10.0
 - Machine type: 64-bit
 - Mupen64Plus version:1.3
- Plugins used:

For visual artifacts, give:
- game name and CRC/MD5 hash (printed on console)
- description of the artifact (missing polygons, flashing, wrong colors, etc)

Describe the problem: other N64 emulators in the past used a plugin to
extract models and textures from the roms to VMRL and .bmp formats, I don't
see why the Mupen64 project can't attempt the same.. (it already has a
texture output.)

Please provide any additional information below.
the attached DLL is the plugin script used by the N64 emulators that were
capable of extracting models to VMRL along with .bmp textures.

I think this is a bad idea, because the rice video plugin can dump the
textures, then
spent time with this is unnecessary.

it can dump textures yes, but not models, that I know of. 3D models are the
actual
characters, enemies and scenery. the textures are pasted over those..

so using the rice video input plugin for texture out put is good and it's half
the
job already done , I even commented on that my self, I thought I was understood,
obviously not..

all we need is the model extractor part of the plugin., but a model extractor
plugin
that automatically correctly places the textures on the models would be nice
too.

save building models from scratch.

Okay, seem it's a good idea, but first is better improve the compability of
mupen64plus with the n64 games, after make the "mupen64plus exclusive features"
as
netplay with in-game voice and text chat, model dump and etc.

I think the model dumping is a slightly more productive feature than textchat or
microphone use for multiplayer.

I mean if it can be done, it would be something the non-commercial game
development
communities would be interested in I'm sure!! that and random 3D artists would
be
quite happy too..
