No way to configure Sixaxis / Dual Shock 3 Playstation 3 pad #267

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
Describe your system:
 - Linux distribution: Ubuntu 9.10
 - Machine type: 32-bit
 - Mupen64Plus version: 1.5
 - Plugins used: blight's SDL input plugin v0.0.10

Describe the problem:
blight's SDL input plugin configuration window method causes a problem with
Sixaxis / Dual Shock 3 Playstation 3 pads, possibly related to the fact
those pads 1. Have 2 informations for each button, one analog and one
digital; 2. Have Sixaxis motion detector (sending constant?) information.

The pad is detected (shows in Device:), but when you click with the mouse
on any N64 controller button, the "Press a key/button or move any axis"
closes before one has the time to press a PS3 pad button (I checked this
doesn't happen when trying to configure the Keyboard, where the dialog
stays open till you press a keyboard key). Even with the PS3 pas completely
still (stitting flat on the table) the dialog closes by itself.

Please provide any additional information below.
I'm using Debian 1.5+dfsg1-4 packages rebuilt for Ubuntu 9.10.

The GUI code has been removed from the core Mupen64Plus project. The new
SDL-Input
plugin has auto-configuration support for the PS3 controller.
