Describe your system:
 - Operating System (be specific): Ubuntu 10.04 "Lucid Lynx" alpha 3
 - Machine type (32-bit or 64-bit): 64-bit
 - Mupen64Plus version: 1.99.3
 - Plugins used: mupen64plus-video-rice.so, mupen64plus-rsp-hle.so,
mupen64plus-input-sdl.so, mupen64plus-audio-sdl.so

EEPROM support appears to be broken:

With Snowboard Kids 2, Mupen64Plus displays the following error message in
the terminal:

Core: couldn't open eeprom file
'/home/rjarrrpcgp/.local/share/mupen64plus/save/Snowboard Kids 2 (U)
[!].eep' for reading

When exactly does that happen (the black screen)? After a race or when you
quit? I
only noticed that it prints a warning when I select Story mode about

Core: couldn't open memory pack file
'/home/xxx/.local/share/mupen64plus/save/Snowboard Kids 2 (E) [!].eep' for
reading

This is normal and was gone after the first Save (at the red telephone) and I
couldn't reproduce the hang+black screen.

I used the Debian 1.99.3 packages on Debian unstable on amd64

It's when I try to start a race. But the video is corrupted, even the title
screen
and it appears to be because I need to change settings of RiceVideo plugin, but
I
cannot!

How do I bring up plugin config?

$EDITOR ~/.config/mupen64plus/mupen64plus.cfg

What graphic card are you using and with which driver/xorg version. Does it also
happens with mupen64plus 1.5 using the rice video plugin?

Unfortunately, the user did not respond anymore and I could not reproduce the
problem on any of my systems
