JCPNEXT4-47: Can view bugs in JIRA but cannot login and comment #41

Closed apastsya closed 7 years ago

Jira issue originally created by user heathervc:

Can view the issues just fine, but the problem occurs when I try to log in. Then I get an error-message ("This webpage has a redirect loop" from Chrome - a slightly different one from Firefox).

Tried Internet Explorer - it worked. Tried Firefox again - this time it worked (I made no changes). Tried Chrome again - it failed. Cleared cache and cookies on Chrome (which I had done twice previously without effect) - this time it worked.

So - I'm up and running again...

Still experiencing this issue with JIRA if logged in without activity for some time and then go back to login and work on issue. Please advise.

This is a known issue documented on the release notes page for the 20140620 sprint - https://java.net/projects/help/pages/ReleaseNotes. Its an Atlassian Jira redirect bug. As long as the user signs in using the login link from https://java.net/jira/secure/Dashboard.jspa.

Closing this as a known issue. (It's not fixed, but there is a workaround as documented in an earlier comment.)

Note also that logging in to java.net generally before navigating to JIRA is a workaround.
