Jira issue originally created by user brunos:

When people are registering, we need a form that is simple, and that can guide the interested developer into how to join, what category to choose.

An example that can be looked for inspiration is this Microsoft site, for Contributor Agreement signing: https://cla.msopentech.com

Some important points on this example, that we should look into our solution:

We will implement EchoSign as electronic signature for agreements.

We have two existing documents that we will use to guide people through the process of joining: the Membership Classes Chart and the Workflow Chart (both are published in the Document Archive).

As for electronic signing - we have a separate issue (#67) for that. No need for further discussion of that topic here.

PMO also make updates to JCP.org : post Process doc, FAQ, Membership pages, Spec Lead Guide, About JCP Program Overview, Translation of JCP versions, Getting Started Overview, Press Page.

Oracle Legal has requested that we post the following summaries of the membership agreements somewhere on jcp.org. Please incorporate them where appropriate:

Associate Membership Agreement: The new Associate membership class is targeted at individual developers who wish to participate in the JCP. Such developers either have not signed the JSPA or are not employees of entities that have signed the JSPA. This membership agreement maintains some of the same restrictions and requirements currently under the JSPA but is considerably shorter and simpler. Unlike the JSPA, no employer approval is required.

Partner Membership Agreement: The new Partner Membership agreement focuses on collaboration between a non-JSPA user group and the PMO to promote Java and encourage developer participation in JCP activities. This agreement does not include the right to contribute intellectual property to JSRs or participate in JSR Expert Groups.

Employer Contribution Agreement: Employers of individual JSPA members will now be required to sign the new Employer Contribution Agreement, which documents that those employers make IP commitments similar to those made by full corporate members.
