The JSPA (and the Employer Contribution Agreement derived from it) uses the term Affiliate in the legal sense of an entity that is controlled by another. The lawyers are most unlikely to change this term since it is a well-established legal term.

So: in the interests of avoiding confusion should we use a different term for Affiliate members?

Bruno suggested Professional Member or Associate Member.

A couple of EG members stated their preference for Associate over Professional.

I've changed Affiliate to Associate in version 8 of the Process Doc and the lawyers have changed the term in the Agreement that we will publish at Public Review.
