Multiple <neg><imp><p2><pl> forms produced by generator #22

Open ryskina opened 3 years ago

ryskina commented 3 years ago

I'm using .deps/sah.RL.hfst to generate inflected verbs. It generates several <neg><imp><p2><pl> forms that differ only by one vowel. Is this behavior intended?

булкуспааҥ:булкус<v><iv><neg><imp><p2><pl>
булкуспаеҥ:булкус<v><iv><neg><imp><p2><pl>
булкуспаоҥ:булкус<v><iv><neg><imp><p2><pl>
булкуспаөҥ:булкус<v><iv><neg><imp><p2><pl>
булкуспаэҥ:булкус<v><iv><neg><imp><p2><pl>
булкуспаяҥ:булкус<v><iv><neg><imp><p2><pl>

You've found an error in the phonology, related to some stuff I was trying to fix recently. I suspect the first option is probably the correct one, or possibly a form with a short vowel. @varie?

jonorthwash commented 3 years ago

@varie reports the correct form is "булкуһумаҥ"، but would like to double check.

jonorthwash commented 3 years ago

барымаҥ, etc.

jonorthwash commented 3 years ago

@varie, could you add some imperative forms of some other verbs to verbs-imp.yaml on the model of бар? Maybe the remaining forms of булкус, and also сиэ, бараа, and maybe something with ө and ending in a nasal, like көм?

jonorthwash commented 3 years ago

I think everything's working here now. We can close this once we've tested more imperative forms.

Great! Added tests (c866df2).

@varie, is the conditional of көм- "көмтөр" or "көмнөр"? What about the -TAх past tense: "көмнөх" or "көмтөх"?

If those are both with н and not т (as the transducer currently thinks they are), then do you have any idea why the imperative is with a т and not an н?

Correct:
