I will provide the source code for the barcode reader library; it's under LGPL.
I will probably release the application sources at some point, too, but not while it's still under active development. I'm still contemplating whether to create a Symbian version, and I wouldn't like to see someone else hacking together a suboptimal port before I get to play with it :)
Thats great, looking forward to it. quickbeer could act as a base for several other similar apps.
Let me know if you need any help with porting to Symbian or WP
I think you should make a Symbian-version as well...
Riussi: don't worry, it's in the works. Might take a while -- one doesn't simply compile for Mor^H^H^HSymbian!
A Symbian version is now available for download in the Store. Sadly the barcode scanner needs an autofocus camera, so it's available only for N9 and N8.
@apoi: Has enough time passed for you to share the source code?
I have an N900 and would like to be able to use easily with RateBeer; it seems like your app could provide a useful starting point. I did see your post at http://www.ratebeer.com/forums/quickbeer-an-app-for-symbian-meego_199661.htm which says this is unlikely to be straightforward, but I'd still like to take a look if you're willing to share the code.
@toojays: I planned to release the source code at a time when there were no further Qt based platforms in sight. That has obviously changed since then, and I intend to create Android and Sailfish versions of the app. Thus, I'm afraid releasing the source is not in current plans.
Hi apoi, It would be nice if you could share the source code as well, if this is ok with you. Great app design and usability flow.
