FFS installer's /silent option is donator exclusive. silent exclusive

Terminal response: "Installer for FreeFileSync 10.12 returned with a non-zero exit code: 1. Setup failed to initialize" Logs: C:\ProgramData\AppGet\Logs\freefilesync_20190629_191648.log

it looks like they've disabled silent install on free version,

for now you can try installing it in interactive mode as a workaround appget install freefilesync -i

I'm not sure how we should deal with it.

Alright, adding the -i flag got the update working. You could compare notes with another project, Bulk Crap Uninstaller to see how they handle forced manual installers. It's important at least to identify uncooperative programs. IIRC BCU can churn through many of them automatically, pressing the buttons and so on for you. The other ones, requiring input, are positioned first in queue.
