msvcp100.dll and msvcr100.dll problems #109

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
Pretty simple explanation. I downloaded the new nullDc_104_r22 file, and I
tried to run it. Right away, I get an error message, saying that the
"procedure entry point" could not be located in dynamic link library (dll)
MSVCR100.dll So, I found it online, downloaded it, and put it in the
folder. I tried running it again, and got a different error message, which
said it couldn't find the procedure entry point in MSVCP100.dll Again, I
downloaded the file, but when I ran the program again, I got the same error
message.

Obviously, I should expect to see an error-less main screen, but the
program just gives me an error to a problem that I've already fixed, and
exits.

I am using everything that came in the nullDC_104_r22 folder, downloaded
right from this site. No changes have been made to the plugins or other
files. I added the bios from emuparidise, and added those "missing" dll
files.

My system specifications are as follows:

Operating System: Windows XP Home edition SP3
CPU: AMD Athlon 2400+ 2.00Ghz
Video Card: Nvidia GeForce 4 MX with 64MB video memory with most recent
official driver
Sound Card: Realtek AC'97 with most recent official driver
Additional related hardware and/or software: 512 MB SDRAM, no working
CD/DVD drives, C++2010 already installed, all other necessary updates
installed.

Previous versions have successfully run, without having to download
anything else, other than the bios. Actually, you guys should consider
putting the bios with the emulator, so that people won't have to worry
about it. I have included the exact dll files that I have, in case you
guys want to experiment for yourselves. The dll files came from www.dll-
files.com

You need this: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?
displaylang=en&FamilyID=a7b7a05e-6de6-4d3a-a423-37bf0912db84

It is Visual Runtime C++ 2010.

It is also posted at 'Project Home' in this very googlecode area for nullDC.

I have the same problem than hookonso...@gmail.com and, as him, i have C++2010
already installed. I know this isn't an emu issue but installing c++ 2010 isn't
the solution.

make sure you download the 32 bit version even if you have a 64 bit computer. i
made this mistake, and installing the 32 bit fixed that problem.

I fixed it. I didn't actually do anything at all to fix it.

I had this error only when default gdi image wasn't selected/used

You must have VC++ 2010 runtime installed. Then, if you have msvcp100.dll or
msvcr100.dll in your nulldc directory, you must remove those files to avoid the
procedure entry point error.

Here's what you should do. Do NOT put the dll files in the nullDC folder.
Instead, put the dll's into your computer's system32 folder. That should fix
everything right up.

No. Don't put anything of that, anywhere. Period.

Just install the runtimes properly, that's why the runtimes comes with an
installer. The link is even on the Project Home. >_<

Also, if you did put those files in some folder (any folder), take them out
before installing the runtimes properly. Otherwise you will encounter all sort
of errors.
