Zebra ZD421 ZPL no dithering on mac? #6113

Hi,

We have a Zebra ZD421 in our warehouse. Now when tried printing a shipping label, all the text and lines are not sharp. Now this seems to be a problem caused by the driver/dithering option. However there is no way to disable this on mac. As there is no driver installed on mac for Zebra, it's built into apple via CUPS. Any solution for this problem? Zebra says we need to contact either CUPS or APPLE... As they just refer to updating firmware perhaps as a solution on windows, but we don't have any windows computers.

Hello! I'm experiencing the exact same problem on my Zebra ZD421 thermal printer. Barcodes are printed with very rough jagged edges. I've tried turning the print speed down and I've played with the darkness settings. Nothing seems to help. Is this a dithering issue? How can this be resolved?
