Fixed a typo, removed redundant wording while maintaining proper tense. #280

Thanks for the fix @wvg3!

The test failure is unrelated to this change. I think I've fixed the build, so this is ready for merge once the tests pass (just letting them run to confirm that I've fixed the build).

Don't seem to have the build fixed yet, but going to work on that in #281.
