Hi all, I've had a think through this chapter inlight of moving over to Quarto and think given that Rmarkdown is still being updated and used widely we should probably continue to have this chapter.

However, it does mean that we need a chapter to be created for Quarto. Much of the philosophy and overarching themes of why you would want to create automated, reproducible reports is covered in the Rmarkdown chapter, so I think think the new Quarto chapter could be a bit more streamlined than the Rmarkdown chapter, and primarily focus on the following points:

1) Why Quarto over Rmarkdown, and its differences. Many of the points found here, and here. 2) General run through of creating a quarto document. 3) Showcasing different examples of quarto outputs, HTML, Dashboards, Interactive Documents, etc.

How does this approach sound? Happy to talk through different proposals, or priorities, and go with what the general consensus is.

Sounds good. Agree we should keep rmd

Yep sounds like a good plan to me. Keep it simple for this first round.
